(670 The Score) White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson has changed representation to an agency with strong ties to Lakers star LeBron James.

Anderson will now be represented by Klutch Sports, MLB insider Robert Murray reported Tuesday. Klutch Sports is run by Rich Paul, the NBA's most powerful agent and a longtime friend of James' who also represents him. Anderson's previous agent was Larry Reynolds.

Anderson, who turned 27 on Tuesday, is coming off a career year in which he won the American League batting crown by hitting .335. He also had 18 homers, 56 RBIs and an .865 OPS in 123 games.

No reason was immediately given for Anderson's switch. He isn't approaching free agency anytime soon. He's under contract control through 2024, with the White Sox holding team options for the final two seasons of his deal. Anderson signed a six-year, $25-million deal ahead of the 2017 season that will be worth more than $50 million over eight years if the team options are exercised.
