(670 The Score) Despite reports to the contrary, the White Sox's offer to star free-agent infielder Manny Machado remains at seven years, sources told 670 reporter Bruce Levine on Monday.

The White Sox have made one offer to Machado and kept that on the table. The financial specifics aren't fully clear, but the offer is for closer to $200 million than $250 million, sources said.

On Sunday night, Jeff Passan of ESPN reported that Machado has an eight-year offer on the table from the White Sox and that they might be inclined to go longer than that.

The Phillies are the other serious Machado suitor that's publicly known. The Yankees also have had a meeting with him, but many across the baseball landscape believe they've moved on from him after signing infielder DJ LeMahieu last week.

Machado hit .297 with 37 home runs and 107 RBIs last season -- all career-best marks -- while playing for both the Orioles and the Dodgers. He played 147 games at shortstop last season, though he primarily played third base in the first five full seasons of his career.
