(670 The Score) With the trade deadline looming July 31, the Cubs have inquired about Tigers outfielder Nick Castellanos, sources confirmed to 670 reporter Bruce Levine.

Castellanos, 27, is hitting .283 with 10 homers, 35 RBIs and an .812 OPS in 93 games. He's a corner outfielder, so the thought process for the Cubs would be to shift Jason Heyward to center field more often and use Castellanos in right field.

The Cubs are also still interested in adding someone who could help them in the leadoff spot, sources said. Kyle Schwarber has filled that role for much of the season, but he only has a .319 on-base percentage in the leadoff spot.

Castellanos is making $9.95 million this season and is set to become a free agent this offseason.
