(670 The Score) Chicago is one of four cities remaining to become one of the NHL's two hub cities, TSN reported.

Las Vegas, Toronto and Edmonton are the other three cities in contention. Ten cities were initially in consideration. A decision on the hub cities could be announced later Tuesday, TSN reported, but there has been no clear timeline revealed by the league.

Part Chicago's plan for hosting as a hub city includes turning the McCormick Place campus into a player village, Crain's Chicago reported.

Chicago last hosted a professional sporting event on March 11 when the Blackhawks played a game at the United Center. The NHL suspended its season a day later due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The NHL is set to conduct its Stanley Cup playoffs with a unique 24-team format. The Blackhawks are the No. 12 seed in the Western Conference and will play the No. 5-seeded Oilers in a best-of-five series in the play-in round.
