Mully & Haugh: Cubs' heartbreaking loss, 5@5 (Hour 1)

Mully & Haugh Show
Friday, September 20th
Mike Mulligan and David Haugh opened their show by discussing the Cubs' devastating 5-4 loss to the Cardinals in 10 innings on Thursday and what the setback means moving forward. The guys then held the 5 at 5 segment, which began with a discussion on their confidence level in the Cubs making the playoffs after they fell a game behind the Brewers for the second wild-card spot. They then discussed first baseman Anthony Rizzo's miraculous comeback from an ankle injury and whether he needs to be a Cub for life before debating if manager Joe Maddon needs to make a point to protect his bullpen by trusting starters to go deeper in game. The crew also discussed if there's still belief in Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky entering a matchup against the Redskins in Week 3. Later, they discussed if there has been any regression at all in the Bears' defense through the first two games.
