Mike Mulligan and David Haugh conducted the daily 5 at 5 segment, which began with a discussion about the Cubs' recent struggles against the Padres. Are they a sign of an undermanned team or just more road woes? The guys then discussed who would be blamed if the Cubs miss the playoffs: the players, manager Joe Maddon or the team's front office? The morning crew next discussed whether the Cubs' decision to move Jason McLeod from the head of the scouting department to head of player personnel was made to keep him away from the Red Sox or begin a shakeup needed by the organization. The guys also discussed whether Bears linebacker Khalil Mack or Leonard Floyd is more likely to get a sack against the Broncos on Sunday and whether Chicago quarterback Mitchell Trubisky or Denver quarterback Joe Flacco will be back sacked more. Later, the guys had a discussion about Trubisky's latest meeting with the media, in which he told reporters the Bears public relations staff directed him not to talk about the season-opening loss to the Packers.
