Mike Mulligan and David Haugh conducted their daily 5 at 5 segment, which began with a discussion about which team has a more troubling quarterback problem: the Bears with Mitchell Trubisky or the Rams, their upcoming opponent, with Jared Goff? Is it better to not have the right quarterback or to have overpaid the wrong one? The guys then shared their takeaways about a recent in-depth story by Rich Campbell and Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune that chronicled the Bears' evaluation of quarterbacks in the 2017 draft class and their decision to select Trubisky over Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. The morning crew also discussed a workout that has been scheduled for quarterback Colin Kaepernick on Saturday that will be open to all 32 teams. Kaepernick has been out of the league since 2016, when he began kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality and racial injustice. Should the Bears attend the Kaepernick workout? The guys also discussed the Bulls' 120-102 win over the Knicks on Tuesday and shared their thoughts on whether Cubs catcher Willson Contreras changed his profile picture on his social media accounts to convey that he's unhappy about recent trade speculation.
