(670 The Score) Continuing their trend of making only minor moves this offseason, the Cubs traded utilityman Tony Kemp to the Athletics on Monday afternoon.

Chicago received minor league infielder Alfonso Rivas in return.

Kemp, 28, hit .183 with one homer and 12 RBIs in 44 games for the Cubs in 2019 after the team acquired him from the Astros in a trade deadline deal on July 31.

Rivas, 23, hit .292 with nine homers, 26 doubles and 60 RBIs in 122 games split between Class-A Stockton and Triple-A Las Vegas in 2019, his first full professional season. He also had a .387 on-base percentage and an .810 OPS. Rivas played 105 games at first base and 11 in the outfield. He was named to the midseason California League All-Star team before being promoted to Triple-A in late August.

The Athletics selected Rivas in the fourth round of the 2018 amateur draft.

Chicago's 40-man roster now sits at 38 players.
