(670 The Score) The Cubs have signed lefty reliever Jorge De La Rosa and added him to the 25-man roster, they announced Friday.

The Diamondbacks released the 37-year-old De La Rosa last weekend, then he went unclaimed on waivers. He has a 4.63 ERA and 1.60 WHIP in 42 appearances this season.

In a corresponding move, Chicago optioned lefty reliever Randy Rosario to Triple-A Iowa. Rosario has a 3.00 ERA in 28 appearances for the Cubs.

The Cubs also placed right-hander Yu Darvish on the 60-day disabled list in a procedural move to make room for de la Rosa on the 40-man roster. That designation for Darvish doesn't change anything, as he has already been sidelined since May 20 with right triceps soreness and an elbow impingement. The Cubs still hope he can come back in September.
