(670 The Score) Bears coach Matt Nagy and Cubs manager Joe Maddon share more than just high-profile posts in leading two iconic Chicago sports teams.

They both have Pennsylvania roots. They both carry a confident, self-assured, easy-going demeanors and always have a lengthy explanation ready to answer for their decision-making, even when it's considered controversial.

So perhaps it's no surprise that with those shared characteristics and in the aftermath of meeting one another a few months back, Nagy has adopted a page out of Maddon's baseball playbook: have his squad celebrate wins vigorously.

After the Bears' 24-17 win against the Seahawks on Monday night at Soldier Field, the team celebrated with a disco ball in the locker room. A disco ball has been part of the winning party atmosphere of Maddon's tenure in Chicago dating back to when he took over ahead of the 2015 and the Cubs began utilizing an auxiliary room to celebrate in for a bit after victories, a tradition that has since continued on with a fancier new clubhouse.

"We have to give credit to coach Maddon," Nagy said at Halas Hall on Tuesday. "We had some good discussions over the summer."

Maddon was alerted to Nagy's celebratory tactic in a text message from Nagy and was quite enthused. Maddon also provided a little more background.

"He came by a couple months ago during the summer," Maddon said on the Bernstein & McKnight Show on 670 The Score on Tuesday afternoon. "I met his family. A nice man, a really nice man, sharp guy. I don't even know how it came up in the conversation, but I said, 'We celebrate success. We play every night, but if we win, we celebrate.' And actually this morning, I woke up to a text from him talking about their postgame celebration and how much the players loved it. I thought it was outstanding. I texted him back and obviously just congratulated him on a great victory last night. Heck, that's two really good games that they played. And they've really recaptured their identity defensively. So a lot of good stuff. And (defensive coordinator) Vic (Fangio) texts me all the time, so I'm really happy for those guys."
