(670 The Score) The Cubs' first full squad workout at spring training with be Feb. 18 in Mesa, Ariz.

Pitchers and catchers will report prior to that, with their first workout set for Feb. 13.

The Cubs are coming off a 95-win season in which they fell to the Brewers in a tiebreaker Game 163 to decide the National League Central crown, then lost to the Rockies a night later in the NL wild-card game. Chicago has had a quiet offseason, with the signing of utility infielder Daniel Descalso representing the only addition to the projected 25-man roster to date.

President of baseball operations Theo Epstein has emphasized that the $206-million luxury threshold isn't a roadblock, explaining the team's offseason inactivity is due to a slow-moving market while needing to stay within the confines of the baseball operations budget.
