(670 The Score) Cubs bench coach Brandon Hyde recently interviewed with the Rangers and Angels for their managerial openings, Jon Morosi of Fox Sports reported.

The 45-year-old Hyde has served on the Cubs coaching staff for the past five seasons, most recently as their bench coach under manager Joe Maddon. Prior to that, he was the team's first-base coach from 2015-'17 after having other roles in the organization.

The Rangers fired manager Jeff Banister in late September as they neared the end of a 67-95 campaign. Texas finished in last place in the American League West.

The Angels have started a search after Mike Scioscia retired following a 19-year run that made him the longest-tenured big league manager. They went 80-82 this season.
