Cubs Announce David Ross' Coaching Staff

Craig Driver will be the first-base coach, while Will Venable will serve as the third-base coach.

(670 The Score) The Cubs on Monday officially revealed new manager David Ross' coaching staff for the 2020 season. 

The new additions -- most of which had been previously reported -- are Andy Green as bench coach, Craig Driver as the first base/catching coach, Chris Young as bullpen coach, Mike Napoli as quality assurance coach and Kyle Evans as senior director of major league date and development. 

Green is the former Padres manager, while Driver spent the past two seasons as the Phillies' bullpen catcher/receiving coach. Young also come from the Phillies, serving as their pitching coach in 2019. Napoli is on a big league staff for the first time since retiring from a 12-year playing career. Evans previously worked in the Cubs' front office as the senior director of player personnel.

Will Venable will coach third base for the Cubs after previously serving as their first-base coach. Venable, 37, interviewed for the Cubs' managerial vacancy before Ross was hired.

Pitching coach Tommy Hottovy, hitting coach Anthony Iapoce, associate pitching/catching and strategy coach Mike Borzello, assistant hitting coach Terrmel Sledge, staff assistant Juan Cabreja, staff assistant Franklin Font and bullpen catcher Chad Noble all return for the Cubs as well.
