(670 The Score) Veteran right-hander Tyler Chatwood will make his first start of the season Sunday afternoon against the Diamondbacks, the Cubs announced on Friday. The team will push left-hander Jose Quintana back to Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Chatwood, 29, has a 6.00 ERA over six innings of work in relief this season. He was scheduled to start last Sunday against the Angels but the game was postponed due to rain. The Cubs have mixed Chatwood into the rotation with staff ace Jon Lester (left hamstring strain) on the 10-day disabled list.

Chatwood signed a three-year, $38-million deal ahead of the 2018 season, then struggled mightily in going 4-6 with a 5.30 ERA while issuing an MLB-worst 8.2 walks per nine innings. Chatwood has thrown five innings of relief this season, allowing four earned runs and issuing four walks.

The Cubs open up a three-game series against the Diamondbacks on Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field. Kyle Hendricks (0-3, 5.40 ERA) gets the start, with first pitch at 1:20 p.m. CT.
