CHICAGO (670 The Score) -- The hot new Cub tee shirt on the north side should read Every Bote In.

That's what Chicago Cub players were screaming after David Bote's walk-off single in the ninth inning on Sunday after the 2-1 victory over Arizona. Bote drove a fastball from Diamondbacks reliever Archie Bradley past diving second baseman Ketel Marte for a single, which scored Javier Baez from third base. It brought the Cubs back to .500 on the season at 10-10.

Bote then left the clubhouse immediately after his game-winning hit to fly to his Colorado home. His wife was expected to deliver the family's third child Sunday night.

While Bote's walk-off didn't have the drama of his ninth-inning grand slam last August against the Nationals -- winning the game 4-3 after being down 3-0 with two outs in the ninth -- it was an important swing of the bat for the Cubs, giving them a series victory at home.

"He just took off from that home run last year," Baez said of Bote. "He has learned to slow everything down in big moments. He just keeps getting better. He has that confidence coming off of the bench or whatever situation he is in."

For Bote, it was his fourth walk-off game-winning hit in less than a year in the major leagues.

"Bote didn't try to do too much there," Cubs manager Joe Maddon said. "We have been going opposite field a lot. I love that. A 2-1 breaking ball he didn't try to do too much with."

The win was taken away from spot starter Tyler Chatwood, who threw six innings of two-hit, one-run ball in his first start of 2019.

Pedro Strop blew a save and gave up a game-tying solo home run in the ninth to Jarrod Dyson. Strop got the win after the Bote walk-off.
