Long was involved in a heated altercation during the Bears' scrimmage at Halas Hall on Wednesday night, an incident in which he ripped off the helmet of undrafted rookie defensive lineman Jalen Dalton and threw it in his direction.

Long was removed from practice in the aftermath of the incident, with coach Matt Nagy expressing his displeasure after the Bears finished their work.

"It was just disappointing," Nagy said.

The 30-year-old Long is entering his sixth season in the NFL. A three-time Pro Bowl player, Long has been involved in practice fights multiple times before.

Long expressed during an interview last Sunday how he's excited to be part of this Bears team.

"Coming down here with this group of guys, it was as fun of a time as I've had and as productive of a time as I've been a part of in Bourbonnais," Long said. "I'm looking forward to seeing this team continue to progress.

"The big thing is having a group of guys that understand the culture and really live by this code and ethos. There are a lot of things we're doing here that we haven't done in years past. I'm excited to be a part of this."

Kickoff between the Bears and Giants comes at 6:30 p.m. CT from MetLife Stadium.
