(670 The Score) Bears star linebacker Khalil Mack won't participate in the Pro Bowl on Jan. 27 as he's said to be recovering from injury.

The Giants announced the news Thursday morning in revealing that linebacker Olivier Vernon has been selected to replace Mack in the Pro Bowl. Whether Mack is dealing with an injury and to what the extent is remains unclear. Bears coach Matt Nagy hasn't addressed reporters since the team's season-ending loss this past Sunday.

Acquired by blockbuster trade in September, Mack recorded 12.5 sacks in 14 games during his first season with the Bears. He missed two games in October due to an ankle injury, the first contests he had ever missed in the NFL.

The Bears had five players selected to the Pro Bowl in Mack, cornerback Kyle Fuller, safety Eddie Jackson, defensive lineman Akiem Hicks and running back Tarik Cohen (specialist).
