(670 The Score) The Bears lost a key player in defensive lineman Akiem Hicks early in their game in London on Sunday and never found their footing defensively. They lost 24-21 to the Raiders, with Hicks sorely missed after he suffered a gruesome elbow injury eight plays into the game.

A day later, Bears safety Eddie Jackson expressed hope that the injury to Hicks won't keep him out for the remainder of the team's season.

"He's in good spirits," Jackson said on the McNeil & Parkins Show on Monday. "Everybody is confident he can return during the season."

The Bears were beat up by the Raiders, including on the ground. Oakland rookie running back Josh Jacobs had 26 carries for 125 yards, and the Raiders tallied 169 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns against the Bears defense.

Though the Bears rallied with 21 unanswered points in the third quarter after trailing 17-0 at halftime, their defense couldn't hold the Raiders out of the end zone. Jacobs punched in the go-ahead two-run touchdown run with 1:57 remaining to ultimately win the game for Oakland.

"That was unacceptable," Jackson said of the defensive performance. "We hold ourselves to a higher standard."
