(670 The Score) Bulls rookie center Wendell Carter Jr. is will miss his team's game at the Denver Nuggets on Thursday evening after an MRI revealed he sprained his thumb, the Sun-Times reported Wednesday.

Carter suffered the injury in a 107-100 loss at the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night. There was internal concern that the injury was worse before tests revealed that ligament was stable and he didn't break it, according to reports.

Carter is expected to be further evaluated Friday after the team returns to Chicago.

The 19-year-old Carter is averaging 10.3 points and 7.0 rebounds and shooting 48.5 percent in 25.2 minutes per game. He's the only Bulls player to appear in all 44 of the team's games, and he has started all of them.
