(670 The Score) The Bulls have waived guards Shaq Harrison and Walt Lemon Jr., they announced Saturday afternoon.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Both were working on non-guaranteed deals. Harrison's was set to fully guarantee in mid-August. There was some thought that he could stick on the roster, but the Bulls will soon be officially carrying 15 guaranteed contracts after signing power forward Thaddeus Young, signing-and-trading for guard Tomas Satoransky in a deal with the Wizards, re-signing Ryan Arcidiacono, agreeing to a deal with center Luke Kornet and adding draft picks Coby White and Daniel Gafford this offseason.

The in-season roster maximum is 15 players. The Bulls have one two-way contract slot open still, so there remains an outside possibility Harrison could return if he doesn't land an NBA job elsewhere.

Harrison established himself as a bulldog defender in 2018-'19, when the Bulls signed him in the first week of the regular season. His trouble was he brought little offensively, shooting 43.2 percent overall and 27.0 percent on 3-pointers. He averaged 6.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.2 steals in 19.6 minutes across 73 games, including 11 starts.

Lemon played well in a short stint after being promoted from G League affilitate Windy City late in the season, when the Bulls shut a handful of regulars down with injuries and focused on improving their draft lottery positioning. He averaged 14.3 points in six games.

Also Saturday, the Bulls officially signed Young to his three-year contract after the moratorium ended. Their other additions are expected to become official in the coming days.
