The two sides agreed to a buyout, according to Shams Charania of the Athletic. He'll be a free agent after he clears waivers. Blakeney was in the final season of a deal set to pay him just shy of $1.6 million in 2019-'20.

The Bulls were going to have to move someone off the team prior to the regular season, as they had 16 guaranteed contracts for 15 roster spots.

Blakeney, 22, averaged 7.3 points while shooting 41.9 percent overall and 39.6 percent from 3-point range in 14.5 minutes across 57 games last season. He was in and out of the Bulls' rotation at various times.
