CHICAGO (670 The Score) -- Four games into the preseason, the Bulls are making a notable switch to their starting lineup.

Chicago will bring forward Jabari Parker off the bench when it hosts Indiana on Wednesday evening at the United Center, coach Fred Hoiberg said. Bobby Portis will start in his place at power forward as Hoiberg and the Bulls look for a spark after two straight lethargic performances.

"We'll see how it goes," Hoiberg said. "Nothing is set in stone right now. It's an experiment to see if it gets us out and playing better just with different combinations. That's all it is, nothing more, nothing less."

Parker has struggled mightily in the first three preseason games, averaging 8.7 points while shooting 9-of-37 (24.3 percent). He has added 7.7 rebounds.

The Bulls will look to run the offense through Parker on the second unit, Hoiberg said.

"It is something you obviously think about, is this what combinations are going to work to give yourself the best chance to be in the game at the end, where hopefully you have a chance to win it," Hoiberg said. "Right now, the last two games obviously haven't gone well for us. It's not blaming anybody. It's trying some new things out, and we'll see how it goes."

Portis-for-Parker wasn't the only switch in the Bulls' lineup. Rookie Wendell Carter Jr. will start at center, with Robin Lopez coming off the bench. Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine and Justin Holiday will also start.
