(670 The Score) The Packers' move to trade up to select Utah State quarterback Jordan Love at No. 26 overall was the boldest move and arguably the biggest surprise of the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday evening.

But was it a smart decision or miscalculation? NFL writer and analyst Brad Evans certainly thought the latter, as he explained on the Laurence Holmes Show on Friday afternoon.

"I thought it was the dumbest move of the draft," Evans said.

"I didn't think Green Bay had to do it. And if I'm Aaron Rodgers right now, I'd be pissed. I'd be fuming. You're one of the all-time greats. Yeah, your game has slipped here a little bit over the last couple of seasons. You're not at the top of the ladder of elite-ness, but you're still pretty damn good -- Pro Bowl-caliber.

"I would be clamoring, I would have been screaming from the highest mountaintops in the Wisconsin Dells -- really a rolling hill there -- that I would want another weapon, another target to throw to. Because outside of Davante Adams, (you need more weapons). You don't have Geronimo Allison, the former Illini who's now with the Detroit Lions and who Aaron Rodgers had an established chemistry with. You don't have an established tight end because the Bears stupidly and blindly overpaid for Jimmy Graham by giving him $9 million guaranteed, which was a colossal waste of money.

"Going out and kicking the tires for a trade on O.J. Howard would make a ton of sense, but it sounds like Tampa Bay is going to run a lot of 12 personnel with O.J. and Gronk (Rob Gronkowski). So right now your No. 2 by default, I guess, is Marquez Valdes-Scantling and then you have Allen Lazard there. You need another wide receiver, and I'd be pretty upset if I was Aaron Rodgers. And if they don't get one tonight (in the second round) ... then Aaron Rodgers is going to defenestrate. If you don't know what that means, look it up. It means you throw yourself out a window."
