(670 The Score) Imagine a world in which star athletes in their prime give uninhibited assessments of a bunch of other current players, fearing no backlash or retributive ill will. It would be great, right?

This is Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey right now, after the publication of a GQ story in which the 2017 All-Pro gave us his thumbnail scouting reports for a long list of NFL quarterbacks that included:

Joe Flacco: "He sucks."
Matt Ryan: "Overrated."
Josh Allen: "He's trash."

Those were the bad reviews, in case we're not clear. Here's a sprinkling of the middling ones.

Ben Roethlisberger: "Decent at best."
Aaron Rodgers: "Doesn't suck."
Tom Brady: "Doesn't suck."

And for a few of the thumbs way up?

Carson Wentz: "Will be an MVP."
Deshaun Watson: "Will be an MVP."
Drew Brees: "Really good."

There were a whole lot more, but you get the point, which is that this kind of thing doesn't happen quite like this, with a name stamped on all of it proudly that happens to belong to a young player who's one of the very best at what he does. Anything resembling such terse and stark opinion usually comes from Twitter click-bait and garden-variety sports punditry, with any real insider version only from anonymous scouts and team executives or peripheral attention-seekers like LaVar Ball.

But this is right there for us in plain sight, sending reporters across NFL training camps scrambling for reactions from those involved. After this dies down, we will go back to our normal and far less exciting routine of habitual blandishments from players understandably unwilling to dive headfirst into the outrage generator, but for right now we have the refreshing joy that is Jalen Ramsey, who doesn't suck.
