(670 The Score) The Bears were interviewing former Colts coach Chuck Pagano for their vacant defensive coordinator position Friday, Brad Biggs of the Tribune reported.

Bears secondary coach Ed Donatell interviewed for the job Thursday, the Tribune also reported. The Bears have been searching for a replacement since Vic Fangio on Wednesday accepted a promotion to become the Broncos' head coach.

Under Fangio's guidance, the Bears had the NFL's top scoring defense this past season and would like to keep continuity with a 3-4 scheme. Pagano has experience working with 3-4 defenses.

Pagano, 58, was the Colts' head coach from 2012-'17, compiling a 53-43 record and leading Indianapolis to three playoff appearances. Before that, Pagano had served as the Ravens' defensive coordinator and worked as a secondary coach for the Ravens, Raiders and Browns.
