White Sox's Jose Abreu Leads AL 1st Basemen In All-Star Votes

Abreu is hitting .290 with 10 homers, 38 RBIs and an .862 OPS.

(670 The Score) In the early returns, White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu is in line to start the All-Star Game.

Abreu is the American League's leading vote-getter among first basemen in tallying that was released Tuesday. He has 267,812 votes, pacing ahead of Red Sox first baseman Mitch Moreland, who has 241,889.

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve has received the most votes in the AL with 701,236. No other White Sox player was among the top five in the voting at their respective positions.

Abreu is hitting .290 with 10 homers, 38 RBIs and an .862 OPS in 63 games.

The All-Star Game will be held in Washington D.C. on July 17.
