(670 The Score) Former Cubs pitching coach Chris Bosio has been fired from his same position with the Tigers after he made racially insensitive comments to a team employee, according to reports.

"The organization holds all our personnel to the highest standards of personal conduct both on and off the field," the Tigers said in a statement. "We have zero tolerance for this type of behavior."

Bosio was fired for racially insensitive language directed at another team employee, general manager Al Avila told ESPN.

Bosio was in his first season with the Tigers after spending the past six with the Cubs, who let him go at the end of last season. He oversaw a staff in 2016 that compiled the best ERA in baseball and helped lead the Cubs to a World Series title.
