(670 The Score) Cubs infielder Javier Baez called his injured elbow "good" on Monday afternoon, a day after he left a loss to the Cardinals after being hit by a pitch.

"It's still there," Baez joked of his elbow in an appearance on the Bernstein & McKnight Show.

The Cubs termed Baez's injury a left arm contusion. He didn't get X-rays, a sign that the injury wasn't as concerning as it first looked.

Baez is out of the Cubs' lineup as they host the Dodgers on Monday night, which he hinted earlier in the day would be the case. Addison Russell will start at shortstop, while Ben Zobrist plays second base.

"I probably need another day," Baez said.

Baez is hitting .255 with a team-high 14 homers and 46 RBIs.
