Cubs Call Up Cory Mazzoni, Option Luke Farrell

Farrell has allowed walk-off homers in losses Saturday and Sunday.

(670 The Score) After suffering extra-inning losses on back-to-back days, the Cubs made made a minor roster move to give their bullpen a fresh arm ahead of a home contest against the Marlins on Monday evening.

Chicago recalled right-hander Cory Mazzoni from Triple-A Iowa and optioned right-hander Luke Farrell down. Farrell took the loss Saturday and in Sunday evening's game that stretched into the early hours Monday, allowing walk-off homers in each game to the Cardinals.

Mazzoni, 28, has a 2.31 ERA and 1.46 WHIP in 11 2/3 innings at Triple-A this season. He has a 17.28 ERA in 14 career apperances in the big leagues.

Farrell, 26, was 1-2 with a 7.94 ERA and 1.94 WHIP in six appearances for the Cubs this season.
