(670 The Score) The Bears are among teams that have reached out to new free-agent receiver Allen Hurns, he said on Entercom affiliate 610 The Fan in Charlotte on Tuesday.

Released by the Jaguars on Tuesday morning, Hurns becomes an unrestricted free agent available to every team. He listed the Bears along with the Bills, Texans, Jets, Raiders and Panthers among teams interested, and he's expecting to hear from more. No formal offers have been submitted yet, Hurns said.

The 26-year-old Hurns posted 36 receptions for 484 yards and two touchdowns with the Jaguars last season. He paired with new Bears receiver Allen Robinson in Jacksonville during their four years playing together. In 2015, a career year for Robinson, Hurns posted 64 receptions for 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns, also career-best numbers for him.

The timing for Hurns becoming available is interesting for the Bears, who have Cam Meredith visiting the Colts on Tuesday. The Bears had utilized an original-round tender on Meredith, a restricted free agent, allowing them the right to match any offer but no compensation in return should he sign elsewhere. It's worth noting that the Colts have more than $74 million in cap room, while the Bears are at about $22.9 million remaining.

Hurns should expect to hear from Robinson, who has already tweeted Hurns after he became a free agent Tuesday.
